The Honorable Michelle Kelly, a Massachusetts District Court Judge, joins our Family Recovery Webinar Series to break down how the court system can support families navigating substance use disorder and mental health crises.

You'll learn about:

  • How the court may support treatment

  • Recovery Court—what it is and how to access the system

  • Section 35—Massachusetts court process for involuntary commitment to substance use treatment for up to 90 days

  • Section 12—emergency psychiatric hold (up to 72 hours) for someone in a mental health crisis who poses a risk to themselves or others

Understanding when and how to use these options—and what to expect—can be critical for families in crisis. Judge Kelly will walk through the process and answer your questions.
