Kate Gross
Communications Manager
Kate brings 15 years of experience teaching writing at the college level to her nonprofit communications work. Her background in both educational and professional writing has honed her ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Her experience in daily and monthly news journalism taught Kate to identify and elevate stories that improve people’s quality of life, while her four years as a technical writer in Dublin, Ireland, developed her skills in translating complex information into accessible, impactful content.
Kate holds a PhD in English from the University of Connecticut, MA, from Boston College and a BA from the University of Michigan. Her work is driven by a core belief that communication should benefit both the organization and its community. Kate is dedicated to developing mutually beneficial messaging that strengthens connections between SAFE and those we serve, ensuring that communications advance everyone’s goals with authenticity and respect.
