We are trained and certified in trauma-informed approaches and are a local leader in collaborative care. At SAFE, we are proud to have worked within judicial, housing, and state mental health programs, which increase opportunities for well-rounded care for Franklin residents. We know that when we partner and collaborate with other systems of care, those we support are afforded the greatest opportunity for success. Often, those seeking housing either lack stable support or are in a financial position that could force them to vacate their property in the near future. With ARPA funding, we are excited to implement a variety of approaches. This funding allows for one-on-one housing planning with our case manager, helping clients complete local, state, and federal paperwork associated with short- and long-term housing needs. It also provides for emergency placement when needed and access to information about available housing support and how to utilize it. It was formed in 1971 by a group of concerned parents in California seeking ways to deal with the problem of substance abuse and addiction in their children. Our members include parents, grandparents, siblings, spouses, significant others, other family members, and friends of those with a current, suspected, or former drug problem. We have been one of the best-kept secrets in the recovery community, even though we have groups throughout the world. Families Anonymous is a 12-Step fellowship for families and friends who have known the feeling of desperation caused by the destructive behavior of someone very near to them, whether due to drugs, alcohol, or related behavioral problems. When you come into our rooms, you are no longer alone but among friends who have experienced similar challenges. Any concerned person is encouraged to attend our meetings, even if there is only a suspicion of a problem. Your identity is protected in our meetings. We know each other by our first names only. Anonymity is paramount to the success of our program. Not only is anonymity an underlying principle of the program, but it is so important that it is part of our name. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Date : Saturday, April 25 Time : 10 a.m. to noon Locations : Franklin, SAFE Office Medway Town Hall parking lot Norfolk Police Department Wrentham Town Hall parking lot Millis Fire Department parking lot Most of us have a drawer or cabinet somewhere with old medications we're not sure what to do with. But keeping unused or expired prescriptions around isn't just clutter–it can be dangerous. Kids, pets, or other family members could accidentally get into them, and flushing old meds down the toilet might seem like an easy solution, but it can contaminate our water supply and harm fish and other wildlife. Instead, safely dispose of medications at SAFE’s drive-thru disposal stations, part of the DEA’s National Take Back Day. It's completely free, totally anonymous, and you don't even have to get out of your car! What can you bring? Any medication you want to get rid of—over-the-counter pills, prescription medications (yes, including opioids), and even liquids and creams. No questions asked, no judgment, just safe disposal. We CANNOT accept sharps/syringes. Supported by Opioid Abatement Funds from the Towns of Franklin, Norfolk, Medway, Millis, and Wrentham. No events at the moment
